Perie has been beading for the past 20 years and has received numerous awards for her work. Her work has evolved from stringing semi-precious stones, to using century-old techniques and tiny beads to make avant-garde, contemporary adornments. She often likes to incorporate fiber and wire in her work and uses crochet, knitting and Kumihimo weaving in her designs. She has taught extensively in Northeast Ohio and for the past three years has been teaching nationally at bead conferences.
